Born c.Jan 1851, probably at Wearhead DUR ENG. John was a lead miner, later mining coal. Married Hannah Graham Thurs.14 Dec 1971 Stanhope, daughter of John Graham, lead miner (decd). In 1881 they were at Hamilton Row.

John George was born Mon.5 Feb 1872 Burnhope (village now submerged beneath the reservoir).
Charles born Sat.10 Jan 1874 Burnhope, baptised Sun.24 May 1874, married Mary Jane Crawford 1899 Auckland. He was a cobbler, living in Witton-le-Wear 1901.
Lily Florence born Sat.3 May 1879, baptised Sun.14 Sep 1879.
